O-L01 Learning curve for laparoscopic liver resection: does it affect survival in colorectal liver metastasis?

چکیده

Abstract Background After Gagner introduced laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) in 1992, it was not until 2004 that the first series with more than ten major resections reported. Furthermore, a multicentre study by Allard et al., 2015 revealed laparoscopy only used 176 (6.7%) patients out of total 2620 treated for colorectal metastasis (CRLM). This lag time establishment LLR attributed to steep learning curve (LC) due technical complexity and caution about oncological safety. The aim this is assess if has affected survival CRLM. Methods All consecutive performed single surgeon between 2000–2019 were retrospectively analysed. RA-CUSUM conversion rate log regression analysis blood loss identify two phases curve. LC then applied CRLM subgroups compared outcomes. repeated propensity score-matched (PSM) groups Results A 286 included analysis. Combining results from identified distinct early phase (EP, n = 68) represented initial experience, late (LP, 218) increased competence introduction challenging cases. 192 (EPc 45, LPc 147). The single surgeon learning curve of laparoscopic liver resection

The aim of the study was to evaluate the single-surgeon learning curve (SSLC) in laparoscopic liver surgery over an 11-year period with risk-adjusted (RA) cumulative sum control chart analysis.Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) is a challenging and highly demanding procedure. No specific data are available for defining the feasibility and reproducibility of the SSLC regarding a consistent and c...

Laparoscopic liver resection: is there a learning curve?

BACKGROUND Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) is becoming an accepted treatment option for resecting both benign and malignant tumours. However, it is critical that the laparoscopic approach does not compromise the technical quality of the liver resection. The aim of this paper was to review the learning curve of LLR in a specialist HPB unit. METHODS A prospective database was searched to ide...

Liver resection for non-colorectal, non-endocrine liver metastasis.

Liver metastases of non-colorectal non-endocrine origin (NCNELM) are rare indications for resection. Even in major liver surgery units, NCNELM constitute no more than 5% of all indications for resection. Such a small number is due to the fact that in the case of NCNELM, both primary and metastatic lesions are generally recognized in the advanced stages of the disease when not only metastases to...

Laparoscopic liver resection as a safe and efficacious alternative to open resection for colorectal liver metastasis: a meta-analysis

BACKGROUND The safety and efficacy of laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) for colorectal liver metastasis (CLM) remain to be established. A meta-analysis was undertaken to compare LLR and open liver resection (OLR) for CLM with respect to surgical and oncologic outcomes. METHODS An electronic search was performed to retrieve all relevant articles published in the English language by the end of...

OBJECTIVE To assess the feasibility, safety, and outcome of laparoscopic liver resection for benign liver tumors. METHODS Fourteen patients with benign liver tumors, including 11 cases of hepatic hemangioma, 1 case of hepatic focal nodular hyperplasia, 1 case of hepatic granulomatous inflammation, and 1 case of liver cyst with hyaline degeneration and calcification underwent laparoscopic live...
